We were delighted to welcome Carla Denyer, Co-Leader of the Green Party, to our Emmaus Bristol community on Monday 14 November 2023.
Carla visited our Backfields site, which is home to our biggest shop, offices, business incubator, warehouse, recycling yard, eco pods and our e-cargo bike.
During the visit, companion Pawel led the tour whilst explaining to Carla about our charity, the social enterprises we operate and the reuse and recycling work we do. She was pleased to hear that we diverted 84 tonnes of reusable items from the waste stream in Bristol last year.
As well as being Co-Leader of the Green Party, Carla is also the Councillor for Clifton Down ward and MP candidate for Bristol West.
Joining the tour was our interim Chief Executive Xanne Carey and Support Team Manager, Francesca Blishen. After the visit, Carla enjoyed browsing our Stokes Croft shop and told us that she is a regular customer!
