Some items may need a little TLC to bring them back to life, so the team will steam, brush, paint or polish to get the item looking its Sunday best. Where items are beyond reuse or upcycling, we strip and sort component parts for recycling to reduce the quantity and size of product going to landfill. In this way, we help to make the most out of all the goods collected. In 2019, Emmaus Bristol diverted 83 tonnes of furniture and electrical goods from the local waste stream by making these items available for resale – that’s a lot of essential items available for low income households in Bristol.
