At Emmaus Bristol, we offer a professional house clearance service with a difference. While many of you may be familiar with our work providing a safe home and fresh start for people who have faced homelessness, you might not know that our house clearance service plays a big role in supporting this mission.
Our house clearance service is unique because it’s run by our companions, who gain valuable work experience and skills. Companions shared with us that they enjoy doing clearances because of the unusual items that can be discovered, and that they feel good helping with reliving any stress customers can experience. Many house clearance customers are downsizing or have been bereaved and have taken responsibility for clearing a loved one’s house.
Every item we collect is either sold in our shops or recycled, with the proceeds directly supporting our charity’s work. Here’s what a few recent customers had to say about their experience:
