Happy Giving Tuesday!
Thanks to your support, we have been able to continue our work in providing a fresh start for people who have experienced homelessness, social exclusion and poverty.
As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, we want to share the different ways you can give to Emmaus Bristol. Whether it’s donating your time, donating items you no longer need, or giving what you can, every contribution helps us continue supporting people out of homelessness.
Take a look below for ways you can get involved this Giving Tuesday and make a real impact in someone’s life.
Give what you can
We know times are tough, which is why we appreciate every single donation we receive, no matter how big or small. Whether it’s £5, £50, or £500, your generosity adds up and helps us to keep our Emmaus community running.
Did you know that last Giving Tuesday, people in the UK donated over £20 million to charities? We’re not suggesting you donate that much (but we certainly wouldn’t turn it down!). Every little bit helps, and whatever you choose to give will go a long way in supporting our Companions. Here’s how your donation can make a difference:
£10
Could fund 5 bus tickets for a Companion who has just found work
£25
Could pay for a Companion’s haircut
£50
Could pay for a phone, so a Companion can keep in touch with support workers, family and friends
£500
Could buy a new bed and bedding for someone who has been sleeping rough
£1,650
Could fund the mobile dental clinic to come to Emmaus for a day, providing essential dental care

Give your time
Volunteer with us and make new friends, gain valuable experience, and help make a difference in the lives of our Companions. We have roles available in retail, online sales and even our e-cargo bike!
Give items
Give your once loved but no longer needed clothing, bric-a-brac, books, electrical items or furniture to us and we will find it a new home in one of our shops in Stokes Croft or Bedminster, or via eBay.
Give with clearances
Having a big clear out for the new year? Book a house or garage clearance with us and we will reuse what we can and recycle the rest. Our clearance service is run by Companions and all proceeds support Companions.
Give yourself love
Give yourself some love. We know that Christmas can be hard, it is for some of our Companions. If you want company or last minute gifts, pop into our shops. Our shops will close at 2pm on Christmas eve and reopen on 30th December.
Thank you for being part of our Emmaus community!
